I have always said that if America speaks and Biden is sworn in as President, unlike Democrats, I will not run around with certain parts of my anatomy on my head, scream at the sky and say he is not my president if the people have spoken, the fact is he will be. Yet calls for unity, this is something else; I am not so quick to jump on this bandwagon.
We are told that we are brainwashed, people like AOC and others are now calling for a commission called the Trump Accountability Project, to be set up to punish all Americans who dared to vote for or support Trump, then in the next breath, you want to call for unity? Not so fast.
Over the last four years, we have seen the definition of what the Left is demanding with calls for unity, we have to agree to walk in lockstep with their way of thinking or risk being physically attacked, face attacks on social media, cut off of platforms, fired from jobs, and this is just the beginning.
Groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa have shown us, give in to their demands or watch cities burn, people assaulted, stores looted, and some will be shot. This is not unity by peaceful means; this is unity by the barrel of a gun.
Yet, even with all this yelling, I am willing to support Biden if the counts are done, and he is found to have legitimately won the election, something I am not yet convinced of. But I will not tolerate or support a witch hunt to force us to change our ideology, nor will I support or go to a tribunal set up in a fashion after McCarthyism, where we will be punished for daring to be conservatives and supporting the constitution.
Thankfully, the Senate is controlled by the Republicans, something the Democrats find very upsetting. Contrary to the claims that a blue wave was coming, the house lost seats to the Republicans, but not enough to regain control of the Senate.
Even with this check, the Democrats will say they have a mandate, although the voting shows the opposite. They will use this to pressure the Republicans to give in to their court-packing demands, doing away with the electoral college. Sadly, at this time, with many of the Republicans, I have no faith they have the fortitude to stand up to the onslaught that is coming their way.
Politicians like Romney (the greatest mistake I ever did was support this turncoat), along with groups like the Lincoln project, are now saying they want to rebuild the Republican party; I say if they do turn the party into what they are and support, maybe it is time to look at starting another party, maybe something like the Constitutional Party.
If you think the violence is going to end, it will not; it is going to get worse, but as I was once told by a sagacious old man, “There is one problem with unity at the end of a gun barrel, people may decide to fight back with their own guns.” Could this be why the Democrats are so desperate to strip us of ours?
