In Choosing McConnel and Liz Chenny, The Leadership of the GOP Shows How Out Of Touch They Are
We have come off an election where Trump took in record numbers of votes. Had it been any other election, he would be serving his second term, but powers to be were determined to make sure this would never happen, now we are faced with an increasingly dictatorial rule by Democrats in the name of wokeness.
President Trump won the largest ever vote in US history as a Republican and as a sitting president. Trump picked up Latinos, Blacks, Gays, immigrants, and Democrat voters in the process. If not for an election’s fraud, President Trump would be starting his second term right now.
Support for Trump by conservatives is at an all-time high, yet this is seen as an inconvenience to the GOP leadership. They seem determined to not only rid themselves of Trump but his supporters as well.
Liz Cheney, the third-ranked Republican in the US House of Representatives, never liked President Trump and smeared and attacked President Trump during the Democrats’ slapdash impeachment in January.
Liz Cheney refused to apologize for her vote against President Trump in the sham impeachment. She continues to smear the Republican president then and now.
- 91% of Republican voters would vote for President Trump again today.
- Only 13% of Wyoming Republicans would vote for Liz Cheney today.
Yet, none of this seems to have mattered for the GOP leadership; they are allowing her to hang on despite her total lack of support by her constituents. It seems they seem to think they are entitled to support her because of what her father did.
I hate to say this, and I liked Bush, but I feel no need to support Bush or his cronies any longer; they showed during the last four years that they were far more concerned about upholding a corrupt system than doing what was best for the American people. At this point, I think the Bush’s are more a part of the swamp than anything else.
The sad thing is it did not stop with the House leadership, or more accurately, the complete lack of leadership; it is also going on in the Senate.
Now that Trump is out, McConnel is taking this as a time to purge out Trump supporters, to commence to stab Trump in the back, saying somehow Trump orchestrated the whole capital incursion (something we know is not valid, it was planned for weeks in advance).
What was worse, McConnel suggested Trump be charged in the Criminal Justice system. I must ask, “For what Mitch?”
The GOP leadership makes it clear; their loyalty is not with the people who put them in office but towards whatever particular interest group is pulling their strings.
The great news is there is a way to remedy this, vote these people out of office, or better yet, primary them out. For this, we need men and women with courage who will run to do the people’s will, not a party or some particular interest group. It seems these leaders on both sides have failed to understand; they are there to represent us, not themselves. If they can’t understand this, then we need to replace them with people who do.
