In a move one would expect from Fascist Germany, not in the US, police were out ticketing and arresting ministers for daring to preach the gospel, at the same time releasing criminals because of fear they may get sick.
To make matters worse, Sheriff Chad Chronister, who felt it was more important to protect prisoners that protect his own citizen’s constitutional rights, learned after he had released a batch of prisoners that one of the releases, Joseph Edward Williams, one of 100 prisoners released, went out and took the life of another.
Joseph Edward Williams was one of over 100 prisoners released from Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County, Florida. Sheriff Chad Chronister told us at the time not to worry because they were low-level, nonviolent offenders.
A day after he was released on March 19, with the claim this was done to prevent the spread of coronavirus to nonviolent inmates, Williams shot a man to death in Tampa.
“There is no question Joseph Williams took advantage of this health emergency to commit crimes while he was out of jail awaiting resolution of a low-level, nonviolent offense. As a result, I call on the State Attorney to prosecute this defendant to the fullest extent of the law,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said.
Williams, who has so far been arrested 35 times, this time is his 36th, sure does not sound like a nonviolent, none repeat offender, I would think he would never qualify as someone that should have ever been released.
Yet Williams was released, this was due to the Sheriff, like many in liberal cities, only look to the current crime, refuse to take past offenses into account, and released on this.
Williams is now charged with second-degree murder, resisting an officer with violence, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The murder is alleged to have occurred just 26 hours after Williams was released.
What is more surprising, this is the same Sheriff who held a press conference a week later, lecturing everyone on the Bible and social distancing, all while arresting Pastor Rodney Howard-Brown for holding a service.
What few people realize is that this is the same Sheriff who held a press conference a week later lecturing the public on the Bible and social distancing and then arrested Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne for holding services, even though his lawyer says he was following CDC guidelines for sanitation and social distancing.
The pastor, to abide by the law, had rented an auditorium, put in medical-grade purification systems in place, then had all the members sit 6 feet from each other, which was within the guidelines of what was ordered.
None of this mattered, what mattered was his civil rights were forfeited, at least according to the Sheriff, it seems he, like the governor, need to brush up on constitutional law, no one, other then the president has the legal authority to suspend civil rights.
Mind you, this is the same state that arrests people, as we have seen for going to church and practicing safe distance, but then puts in place continued access to abortion clinics and liqueur stores.
We need to ask ourselves, how many Americans will continue to suffer due to liberal policies that are stripping us of our rights, releasing criminals that don’t care about the law or abide by it?
It is imperative that we don’t forget this; we need to carry this memory into November, let it be a guide for us when we vote in November. These are the same people who think the stroke of a governor’s pen is all that is needed to take our civil liberties.
