New York And Other Liberal Cities See A Spike In Crime After Releasing Prisoners

New York and other liberal cities are seeing a spike in criminal activity, the left is confused, others are questioning why, yet the fact remains, criminals are criminals, they could care less about the pandemic.

We couldn’t help but chuckle as mayors in liberal cities asked their criminals to stay home, we knew this was an effort in futility, they did not care about the health or welfare of others before, why would they now?

Yet liberal cities let their criminals out, said they were in danger of the virus, but for some odd reason no one spoke of the threat these people would pose to the civilians, the law-abiding ones that were now home, weaponless (the liberals saw to that). Now we see the results, a spike in crime.

Mayors like New York’s de Blasio are shocked, “I think it’s unconscionable just on a human level that folks were shown mercy and this is what some of them have done,” the mayor said during his morning briefing Monday, which came on the heels of a Post report outlining the issue.

For some reason, these Democrats think that criminals honor good intent. One has to ask, “Do they think that putting warnings outside a door that this is a weapons-free area matter to criminals? Do they think if a criminal sees this, they will walk away since keeping in the law, and consideration, that is the priority they have put ahead of their criminal activity?”

There are times I wonder, is the first thing to becoming a Democrat creates a need to give up all of your common sense? Criminals are such because they don’t care about others, they are inherently selfish, nor do they care about the law; if they did, they would be called LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. Sadly, it seems this is just too much of a mental connection to ask of Democrats to string togather.

So how have the criminals responded to this outbreak, I share what Breitbart shared on this:

Over the last 28 days, in the middle of the lockdown, murders in New York City have jumped more than 55 percent compared to this same time last year, when there were no lockdown orders in place.

Between April 13 to April 19, murders increased 100 percent compared to the same week last year. From year-to-date, murders are up by 5.7 percent.

Likewise, grand larceny auto — a crime that no longer warrants bail in New York — has increased more than 53 percent compared to last year. Specifically, there have been 500 charges for auto theft in the last 28 days. During that same time in 2019, there were 326 charges for auto theft.

Over the last week, grand larceny auto crimes across the city have jumped 50.5 percent and they are up more than 62 percent overall since the year before — the largest spike in crime year-to-date for any major category.

The lockdown has also not stopped the rise of burglary in New York City — another crime that in many cases allows the suspect to be released from jail without ever paying bail.

Burglaries are up by 25 percent in the last 28 days and up by more than 36 percent in the last week. From January 1 to April 19, burglaries are up 27.1 percent compared to this same time last year.

Much of this is due to the practice under de Blasio of releasing criminals as soon as they are caught, according to NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea.

At this point, the only crime statistic that seems not to be on the rise is in shootings. This could be due to people are not allowed to congregate in the streets (guess the criminals are now doing this in their victim’s homes.

The left keeps pushing this idiocy; we are stuck trying to cover for them, sure seems like this is a never-ending process. I would love to ask, “When will they ever learn?” Sadly I think the answer is, “Never!”
