Poll: 65% Say America is on the ‘Wrong Track’
A new survey by the Monmouth University Polling Institute shows that only 29% of Americans think the country is headed “in the right direction,” and a substantial majority of 65% think America is on the “wrong track.”
In the Sept. 9-13 telephone survey, U.S. adults were asked, “Would you say things in the country are going in the right direction, or have they gotten off on the wrong track?”
Only 29% said the right direction, down from 42% in January 2021, a 13 point decline.
65% said the wrong track, up from 51% in January, an uptick of 14 points.
In another question, the survey asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as president?”
Only 46% said they approved, which is down from 54% in January 2021. Also, 46% said they disapproved of Biden’s job performance, up from 30% in January.
When asked about Congress, only 22% of Americans said they approve of its job performance, while 65% said they disapprove.

NOTES FROM THE EDITOR
With Biden losing many within his party, most of the independents, the road to reelection will be an impossible route unless something drastic is done to turn these numbers around. There is always the concern that having taken the election once, the Democrats could do this again, but the awareness of what was done makes this more unlikely.
At this point, buyer’s remorse seems to be a big problem.
