President Declassifies FISA Material That Was Used To Spy On His Campaign
Trump has moved, in spite of resistance from within, to declassify the material pertaining to spying on his campaign with the FISA Courts, and has ordered the intelligence agencies to cooperate in the release of this information.
“The Attorney General has also been delegated full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information. Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.”
In a Twitter message late Thursday, Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani defended the president’s action.
“The President @realDonaldTrump made a wise decision to let AG Barr on the documents,” Giuliani wrote. “I don’t know for sure but I seriously doubt there’s any national security concern but some of it could affect pending investigations. I’m sure AG and DOJ will make a very appropriate decision.”
In what is now a predictable move, the Democratic response was swift, accusing Trump of releasing the material for political purposes:
I guess Rep. Schiff was having a fit, how dare Trump do what he and his fellow Democrats have been doing since, and before the 2016 election.
How about we bring back the words the Democrats have been so fond of using lately, “If you have nothing to hide, why do you have a problem with the release of the information?”
Mark my words, this is the beginning of the end, the chickens are running for cover, the fox has gotten into the hen house, they will soon start looking for the one to sacrifice to keep them all from being consumed. Justice is getting ready to have its day, that is a great thing for all Americans.
